Renewable and sustainable solution for multiple applications.
Biomethane is a renewable and sustainable solution with multiple applications, standing out in the replacement of fossil fuels in sectors such as transportation, energy generation, and industry. Composed of methane (CH₄) and carbon dioxide (CO₂), this sustainable gas significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions (GHG).
Considering traditional fossil fuels, which emit approximately 80.7 g CO₂e/MJ, biomethane has a carbon footprint of only 3.5 g CO₂e/MJ, making it a very low-emission alternative. Its production from waste prevents these materials from releasing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, further amplifying its environmental benefits.
Advantages of Biomethane
Waterproofing of landfills with geomembrane
Waterproofing of landfills with high-strength geomembrane, quick installation and great durability.
The geomembrane ensures watertightness, even under adverse conditions, such as harsh environments and exposure to harsh weather.
UV and chemical resistant geomembrane for landfill waterproofing systems.
One of the factors to be considered when specifying a geomembrane for landfill waterproofing is its chemical resistance, since these storage environments are quite aggressive.
To exhibit this high chemical resistance and avoid degradation from sunlight, the geomembrane must be produced with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and treated with carbon black.
The Paiva Group is responsible for the commercialization and logistics of this renewable CO₂. With an efficient and specialized infrastructure, the company offers complete solutions to meet the needs of the industry, driving sustainability and promoting a future with fewer emissions.
From waste to energy: biomethane driving Brazil forward!
In this new installment of the "Gas Market Explained" series, we show how OneBio, Edge's biomethane plant in partnership with Orizon Valorização de Resíduos, transforms waste into biogas and, after a purification process, into biomethane – a renewable gas that supplies homes, industries, and transportation. In addition to reducing waste, this technology accelerates the energy transition and strengthens the sustainable fuels market.
